The wait staff were outstanding. The food was a bit of a disappointment. I had eaten there previously and had very good Italian food. Not so much this time. More

After reading all the good reviews, I thought this would be a good place to take my mom for dinner.
After driving almost 45 minutes, we both ordered the spaghetti dinner and salad.
Sadly, the only thing that was good was the salad. The meatballs were lackluster and the sauce had absolutely no flavor at all.
I was very upset about the quality of the food. I most definitely will NOT be returning here

Food is always great but service is still slow. Was not greeted for 10mins. Waited for drinks for over 20 mins. The table sitting next to us said it seems like we been here for 2 hours waiting for food and their not that busy. Definitely needs better customer service.

There Are So Many Reasons To LOVE The Anchorage! It's Family Owned & Run, Their Food Is Delicious (All oF IT), You Can Dine In The Dining Room Area (Family Friendly), or If You Want Something More Casual You Can Have Some Drinks & Order Their Full Menu In The Bar Area. The Bar Crowd & Atmosphere Is My Favorite Because It's A Good Mix oF Both A Younger & Older Crowd, You Can Strike Up A Conversation With Just About Anyone & The Vibe Is Always Upbeat, But Relaxed. Don't Forget To Say Hi To My Favorite Mixologist, aka Bartender - Stephanie ☺️ She's One oF My Favorite Human Beings & She Can Pretty Much Make Anything You Think Up (She Makes A Mean Bloody Mary Too 😁)! Try It Out - You Won't Be Disappointed 😉

My son had dined previously there, and suggested it as an alternative to some of the national chains we enjoy. He and I dined and enjoyed well prepared and portioned dinner entrees. There was a cozy feel about the dining room, the staff and patrons were friendly.

Their Thursday wing night is a great deal! Can't beat the crispy wings and homemade sauces. All soups are homemade and I recommend trying any of their parms...chicken, eggplant, and veal. Hands down on of the best local restaurants.

Used to eat Texas Red Hot dogs in the bar, back in the late 50’s and early 60’s. Those were the best damn hotdogs. A big guy named Jim used to run the place. Those were the good old days, I guess.

We have eaten there many times. The food is good and the atmosphere is family oriented. The only drawback is the length of time from order to receipt of food. I personally think the French Onion soup is the best in our area !!!

Amazing. We just had our lodge Christmas dinner at the Anchorage and everyone had a great time. The food was great and the staff was extra attentive, even though we went with a buffet. The bartender was always ready and did a great job keeping up with us, even toward the end of the night when we were a little crazy.

Great burgers. AMAZING WINGS. Super crispy and flavorful. Check out their Facebook for weekly specials - they have some cool stuff!
There is a more casual darts and bar area, and also a sit down dining room area. When it's warm it's a great spot to visit because it's right by the water. You can tell the space has a lot of great history. One of those 'if these walls could talk' restaurants. Photos adorn the main dining room from yesteryears shenanigans. A must visit in the area. The food is SOLID, affordable, and the employees will make you feel incredibly cared for.

For years, I had never heard of the Anchorage. So when it was suggested to meet there for dinner, I had to look to see where it was. It being on a nice side road off of Rt213 in Eddyville makes for a fairly private place to enjoy a meal or just a drink.
So we met there on a weekend night in February, 2023. We figured that not many people will be boating and camping in winter, so it would probably be quieter. But to not take chances, we had reservations.
We met in the bar first which had a nice country decor. I liked the display of beer taps mounted in array near the ceiling. The bar had a seat or two available when we arrived. But our group had a drink at a table instead. It had a jukebox mounted on the wall that looked like a tankless water heater. So it was a far cry from the old Rockola's from back in the day. It also costs a whole lot more per song. We didn't order a drink in the bar, as our friends were almost done with theirs. So we waited to be seated instead.
We then proceeded into the dining room. It had an old country feel to it as well. There were probably a dozen tables or so. But it also had a piano and a recliner as well. We were not sure what the recliner was for, but maybe just to give it that homey feel.
We were in by no means in a hurry, and that was good. There was only one table when we were seated. A third table came in right behind us. Then a couple more as time went on. There was just the one waitress to handle the dining room. She was very nice.
We ordered one round of drinks with our diner. Although it turned out to be a before diner drink. We ordered water after the one drink, and our friends second. We also had plenty of time for my light beer to dissipate. As I read in other reviews, things move pretty slow here. As such it took quite a while for our drinks to come out. Then it took another half hour for the soup and salads to come out. Then it took quite a while more for dinner to come out. But we were fine with it as it gave us time to talk and enjoy our friends company. All in all we were there over three hours. But to be fair, the last half hour or so was us talking since the other folks started to clear out and no one else seemed to be coming in since closing time wasn't far off.
The food was good. Some of us really liked it. Others felt it was okay, but not overly special. But nobody felt that it wasn't good. We didn't order dessert since we were full enough. The check came with one round of drinks, then water. Plus our meals with no appetizers or desserts. With a good tip, it was almost $50 per person. It was definitely more expensive than I would have expected. But not drastically so, and it seems to be like that everywhere in this area, including chain and fast food restaurants.
All in all, I found The Anchorage to be a nice homey feeling restaurant that allowed us to have a nice long meal with friends, that we pretty much enjoyed all aspects of. Would it be so accommodating in the busier summer months, probably not. But so far we had a nice meal and a nice first impression of The Anchorage.

Parking can be a little tight having both a restaurant and bar in the building. But for the most part it was adequate.

We had a large Christmas party there this holiday season, the food was fantastic, the staff was excellent , bartender did a great job keeping the drinks flowing, everything you could ask for from a restaurant for a big party. I highly recommend this place for your party or if you’re just going out for dinner as a couple or family.

Food was REALLY good the first time I ordered through Door Dash. The second time I ordered they cancelled my order even though I placed it more than an hour before they claim they close on the app and on their website. I was willing to spend almost $100 on food. I will not be wasting my time ordering from them again.

Good food, generous portions, and friendly staff. A quiet local spot with a good variety on the menu. A former yacht club converted to a restaurant.
